Giving back is an important part of who we are as a business and as a team. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to grow our small business and believe that we have a responsibility to make a difference where we live and work.
We knew we wanted to do more… and so in 2012, we launched our Fireside Day of Service. Each quarter, the Fireside team donates a half-day to volunteer for a nonprofit client.
Fireside family and friends often join in on these incredible volunteer opportunities to make an even greater difference. Each member of the Fireside team is paid for that volunteer time. To deepen the impact, we produce a video on each Fireside Day of Service to highlight the importance of giving and the mission of the nonprofit we are serving.
Fireside is a small business. It’s easy as a small business to be so focused on the work, so focused on trying to grow – that you don’t make time to give back. Those in need don’t have time to wait and that is why the Fireside Day of Service is such an important part of our culture. It’s a priority.
Offering discounted and donated services, volunteering each quarter, being champions for our nonprofit clients through social media… these experiences make Fireside stronger. They enrich our experience as a small business and hopefully, inspire those we touch through our videos we create – or the extra hands we recruit to volunteer – to do the same. We know that small businesses can make a big difference too!
